Our WORK IN ACTION
In cooperation with the Roma Education Fund we provide scholarship programs aimed at increasing the number of Roma in secondary education. Furthermore, we promote internships in companies and specialised training for the acquisition of professional skills.
Various formal and informal education and employment measures empower young Roma to have better opportunities in the labour market. Our measures have so far enabled 1328 young Roma to become better informed, more skilled or included into the labour market, and thus in society.
Kindergartens, schools, health centres, and outpatient clinics provide access to facilities of public services, especially for vulnerable groups, such as Roma minorities and returnees. We support them in municipalities across Serbia.
Health and housing
The German Development Cooperation is working on improving the living conditions in Roma settlements by installing four children’s playgrounds and by improving sanitation infrastructure.
Roma returnees face great challenges in reintegrating in local environments as well as in finding employment. Therefore, German Development Cooperation projects in close cooperation with the National Employment Service, civil society organisations, local governments and companies, support Roma returnees in improving their position in Serbian society with a special focus on integration into the labour market.
