Representatives of the “SDGs for ALL” Platform, whose activities cover all three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, environmental and social, showcased the Annual Monitoring Report on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Serbia at the recent United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Workshop and the 8th Expert Meeting on Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals held in Tirana.
The “SDGs for ALL” Platform, comprised of a consortium of seven renowned civil society organizations, supported by the governments of Germany and Switzerland, serves as a vital forum for engaging Serbia’s non-state actors – spanning civil society, the corporate sector, academia, the media, and the general public – in meaningful discussions about aligning Serbia’s development priorities with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Over the past three years, the Platform has developed three comprehensive reports that analyze Serbia’s readiness to implement the 2030 Agenda. These reports are the result of extensive consultations with independent experts, public and private sector representatives, and civil society organizations, offering valuable insights for state institutions and the expert community to enhance their efforts toward this global commitment.
The 2024 Workshop & Expert Meeting on Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals brought together experts from national statistical offices, international organizations, and other stakeholders involved in the production and communication of SDG statistics. The meeting focused on strategic issues, providing a platform for sharing experiences, good practices, and innovative solutions to the challenges faced in reporting and data collection. Participants also identified priorities for future methodological and capacity-development work in this critical area.
In striving to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda, the cooperation fostered through the “SDGs for ALL” Platform and events such as the UNECE workshop are crucial for Serbia to stay on the path of its sustainable development.
