From 9–11 December, a mission of GIZ dealing with Sustainable Raw Material Supply Chains held a series of discussions, workshops, and consultations with government, social as well as private sector actors. The goal was to make an initial assessment of stakeholder engagement regarding the implementation of international social, environmental, and governance standards in the country’s raw material supply chains. This will help GIZ to tailor measures to support Serbia to establish an effective and sustainable raw material supply chain.
The mission was agreed upon during recent bilateral negotiations on development cooperation between Germany and Serbia in Belgrade. GIZ’s role is to advise and support the development of sustainable raw material supply chains in Serbia, working collaboratively to promote compliance with human rights, environmental, and governance standards.
