The second Virtual Job Fair organized by the National Employment Service (NES) in Serbia was held on 30 November. More than 100 companies placed ads for over 4,400 job positions, and over 5.700 visitors had the opportunity for direct contact via live chat with employers (by clicking on the stand with the company name) as well as with NES employment advisors.

This nationally held Virtual Fair was organized through the online platform developed for NES by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

After the first Virtual Job Fair in 2021 organized through a rented platform, GIZ Serbia has supported developing the capacities of one of the main national partners, the National Employment Service in digitalization processes. This online platform for realisation of virtual job fairs is the result of such cooperation, which will in future enable job seekers to find jobs and companies to find new employees” said Marija Bogdanović, Programme Leader of the Global Programme „Centers for Migration and Development” (ZME) for Serbia, Head of Migration Advice Center – DIMAK.

The digital platform provides easy access and has been developed in a user-friendly virtual environment. Usage is very easy, and access is enabled via any electronic device without instalment of the additional software.

I easily registered on the platform on the morning the Fair took place. It looks very good and was easy to navigate since I’m not familiar with such digital tool. I applied for two job positions, and I hope I will get a job”, said Ivana, an unemployed young woman from Užice in Western Serbia.

Through two video tutorials targeted at first time job seekers, all registered participants had an opportunity to learn how to write a CV, how to prepare for a job interview, but also search the list of the job offers and to apply for jobs.
