In this regard, the Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joskimović and the Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development Dr. Maria Flachsbarth signed a joint statement of intent for bilateral strategic cooperation in the field of climate change, which was already announced by federal Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel. The Prime Minister Ana Brnabić attended the signing and in her media statement underlined the importance of cooperation between Germany and Serbia in the implementation of the Green Agenda.

The strategic partnership envisages more intensive cooperation between the two countries, in order to provide support to Serbia on the path to a climate-friendly future and in the process of transformation into a green economy. By concluding the mentioned agreements, the Federal Republic of Germany emphasizes the role of Serbia as a key partner country of German development cooperation in the region of the Western Balkans.
