In Serbia, a campaign aimed at improving awareness of migrant workers’ rights is being implemented by Group 484 and IDEAS with financial support from German international cooperation.

Through various activities, the campaign promotes the principles of lawful and dignified work for all employees. It places particular emphasis on equal treatment, gender equality, and the protection of labor rights, regardless of origin, workplace, or type of engagement.

The campaign includes visual materials on billboards in Belgrade, Niš, and Novi Sad, as well as communication on social media with clear and informative messages. The goal is to better acquaint the public with the rights of workers in migration, the importance of their protection, and the available forms of support.

At the same time, the campaign contributes to creating a more inclusive social environment that recognizes and values the contribution of migrant workers to the economy and the community.

The campaign is part of the broader project “Safe Work, Stronger Communities: Advancing the Rights of Migrant Workers,” implemented by Group 484 and IDEAS with financial support from German international cooperation and with the support of the national partner, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

The project also focuses on:

  • improving access to basic services for foreign workers
  • better information about available support
  • reducing the risk of exploitation
  • strengthening cooperation among state institutions, civil society, and employers

By developing referral mechanisms and building the capacities of key actors, the project contributes to a more efficient support system and to improving the framework for protecting the rights of migrant workers in Serbia.
